The idea for this collection began during a period of creative block.
 
Ideas weren’t flowing as easily as they usually do, and that's completely normal for an artist. Creativity comes in waves. So, I thought, why not create art inspired by the very act of seeking inspiration?
 
As soon as I embraced this concept, ideas started flowing. I wanted to illustrate a space that would ignite my creativity and transport me into a flow state. As an artist, it’s vital to change your scenery. Whether that means working from a coffee shop, rearranging your living room, refreshing your studio, or booking a flight to somewhere new, a change of environment can spark new ideas.
 
Sometimes, the best places to seek creative inspiration aren’t immediately available—you have to create them yourself. This realization led me to the idea of the "Surf Cafe": a cafe filled with tropical fruits, honey, coffee, and surf inspiration at every corner.
 
Imagine stepping into this space: from coffee table books to wall decor to the beach just outside the door, there’s inspiration everywhere. I picture this cafe far from home (though Maui is hard to beat), perhaps on a surf trip. It's the kind of place where local cats roam free and join you for your morning coffee. The sun is just rising over the ocean, but it's still just dark enough to need some of the warm toned hanging lights on. I am a sucker for warm lighting, it makes for the perfect ambience.
 
The bright wooden bar mirrors the colors of the sunrise, while the cool checkered walls and tropical plants cleanse the air with freshness. If any place could get my creativity buzzing, it's here.
 
Beside me, a notepad and pencil are ready to capture all the ideas that drift through this inspiring surf cafe.
